RB2B's New Slack Block | R!.com's Monthly Update | LIVE EVENT: RB2B Engagement Tips
Hope everybody enjoyed the extended July 4th weekend!
Happy July 4th RB2Bers!
We’ve continued to gain momentum, even during July 4th week.
For those of you following from home, here’s a link to our public Baremetrics dashboard.
Lots to share this week.
We Updated our Slack Block!
Features include:
Hot Page and “In CRM” tags (below the name at the top) … this example doesn’t actually have them.
“Report data issue” button - hopefully these help us get to the bottom of our broken link and household issues
COMING SOON: Ideal Customer Profile tagging (and the ability to only send ICP leads to Slack … or your CRM.
Let us know what you think!
R!.com June Ops Review
WE ARE IN THE GREEN AGAIN - closed June ‘24 up 2.1% as a combined company. Retention.com at $21.8m ARR (+0.1%) and RB2B at $1.15m ARR (+123%). Here’s the good, bad, and ugly from June:
THE GOOD:
We made new combined company ARR highs!!! GO TEAM!!!
RB2B seems to be lightning in a bottle. We are all so grateful
Our pricing struggle appears to be resolved
RDATA (Santosh’s data sales biz) contributed $128k of closed revenue
We continue to make great progress with our EOS rollout
We had a great executive offsite and have clear priorities
We’re starting with our SOC2 audit process this quarter
THE BAD:
Santosh and I aren’t executing our weekly event very smoothly
We need to be better at setting priorities for the entire org (not just execs)
We’re still seeing churns on the Retention side that we feel like we could avoid
We have SOOO much more to do on the growth side of RB2B
We need to clean up a dead link problem in our database
We are behind where we thought we’d be with feature development for RB2B
THE UGLY:
I will be on Clark Barron’s podcast - who called me out VERY publicly about the privacy implications of RB2B - some time in July, which I’m sure will get ugly
TAKEAWAY
In April of this year we were down the 4th month in a row.
And April was the BIGGEST down month (-2.3%).
We shrank from $22.1m to $21.2m (-$900k ARR).
The hardest part was that I had NO IDEA when the slide would end.
Not only that - I had no idea if or when RB2B would start to ramp to give us some wind at our backs.
60 days later:
1. Retention has added $500k ARR,
2. RB2B has added $1.1m, and
3. As a business we’re back at our highs again
What’s the lesson here?
It’s always the darkest before dawn.
You CAN get unstuck.
Just keep throwing spaghetti against the wall.
You DO have what it takes to create a bigger SaaS.
You just have to keep building.
